Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority – Selection Process for the Board Chairperson Position

The Government of Canada (GoC) has launched a selection process to fill the Chair position on Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority’s (WDBA) Board of Directors. We want to ensure that you and your organization’s members are aware of this selection process and have the opportunity to participate. The Notice of Appointment Opportunity and associated news release were published on September 5, 2024.

To fill the WDBA Chair position, the GoC is looking for candidates with significant leadership experience at the senior executive level in a private or public sector organization; working with a board of directors; building and maintaining strong teams; managing and delivering major infrastructure projects through public-private partnerships, including those related to transportation; and engaging transparently and collaboratively with public, private and international partners. As WDBA is shifting focus from construction to operations, with emphasis on operational readiness, marketing and sales, the Chair would benefit from these experiences as well. The Government’s rigorous approach to Governor in Council appointments is built on an open, transparent and merit-based selection process that allows for the recommendation of high-quality candidates who reflect Canada’s diversity.
