The committee’s principal mandate is to represent CSME members active within the sector of computational mechanics. A major duty is to organize a Symposium on Computational Mechanics (SCM) at the annual CSME Congress; other responsibilities include the promotion of TC opportunities within the computational mechanics community, participation in the SCM by submitting or reviewing papers, and communicating with session participants. I.e.,

• to promote development of novel algorithms with applications to computational mechanics;
• to promote non-standard applications of computational mechanics;
• to bring together colleagues with interests in computational mechanics;
• to organize relevant symposia during CSME Congresses;
• to provide Canadian representation to international organization involved in computational mechanics.
