Students at various universities and colleges are encouraged to form a CSME Student Chapter to organise/host various networking and technical activities under the CSME banner. Funding assistance is available from the CSME (click here for details).
Assistance for establishing a new Chapter (Constitution template, etc.) is available from Dan Romanyk, Chair of Student Affairs. Here are some guidelines:
- Discuss with your Department Chair to make sure your department is a CSME Sustaining Member, and seek the Department's support in forming the Chapter.
- Recruit student volunteers within your department to serve on the Chapter in various official capacities (Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, etc.).
- Draft and approve a by-law (constitution) for the Chapter. An example of such a document can be obtained by sending an email request to CSME Student Affairs Committee Chair, Dan Romanyk (dromanyk@ualberta.ca)
- Inform the CSME of the formal creation of the Chapter (same address as above).
For more information, please contact CSME Student Affairs Committee Chair, Dan Romanyk (dromanyk@ualberta.ca)
CSME Student Chapters are also invited to publish their website links on CSME's website. To do so, please contact webmaster Amr Nagaty.
