Canadian Science Publishing, publsher of the Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (TCSME), has recently announced the appointment of Drs. Aleksander Czekanski and Jerzy Maciej Floryan as Co-Editors-in Chief of the TCSME journal. After six years of dedicated and excellent service as the previous Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Marius Paraschivoiu will remain involved with TCMSE as a Consulting Editor.
Maciej Floryan is a Professor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department at Western University. He has held several visiting appointments at universities internationally and is a past president of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Floryan’s research sits at the intersection of fluid mechanics and applied mathematics, where he applies modern mathematical methods, algorithms, and simulations to analyze engineering problems. He has received numerous international and Canadian awards.
Alex Czekanski is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and serves as co-Director of the Manufacturing Technology and Entrepreneurship Centre at York University. He is a past president of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering. With over ten years’ industry experience in design engineering and the automotive business, his research interests now encompass computational and experimental solid mechanics, additive manufacturing, and artificial intelligence. He has received several awards in his academic career for excellence in research and teaching.
