Apart from the recognition attached to membership in Canada's national society for mechanical engineering, membership involves many intangible and tangible benefits such as:

  • Professional development through an extensive program of free webinars on subjects of technical, social, and business interests. These are hosted by the Professional Affairs Cttee or specialized CSME Technical Committees but always open to participation by broader disciplines.

  • The CSME Bulletin is published semi-annually. It contains Society’s news and articles of a technical nature as well as historical articles and features profiling various academic departments and researchers.
  • The "Transactions of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering", the official journal of the society, features comprehensive research articles and notes in the broad field of mechanical engineering. It was established in 1972 and is now published quarterly by Canadian Science Publishing.
